As India gears up to celebrate the 62nd Independence Day, here are my wishes......."Happy Independence Day World! Yes, I know I said “world”. Well!!!! Why shouldn’t I????? I am blessed to be born in a certain country named “India”. Ohh yes!!! With all major countries finding a handsome chunk of Indian community present in their living rooms we certainly aren’t going unnoticed. Hence, “Happy Independence Day World.” Yeah!!!! The birth of my country has not only been a boon to us but a boon to the entire universe. So, I would like to wish the entire world.
Talking about my country I need not tell you that we are making waves all over the globe. Last two decades have seen the young India take over and cause ripples all over, be it sports, business, beauty pageants, entertainment, science, technology, education, outsourcing etc etc etc etc. India has made a serious mark of it’s presence on the global map. We have 2nd highest billionaires after US in top 20 (post recession figure). We are the hottest outsourcing destination. We are the one who have taken the sports world by storm with invention of IPL. We are the one to bring in the cheapest car in market. We are the one who have seen the “H1N1” google search top the charts in recent times. To be frank I am not proud of the last point but then the point to emphasize here is that we are not the first to be affected, but it created heck lot of changes in the world’s most dominant search engine.
However, it seems the fast track growth and development is not being taken in stride by the other entities of this universe. We are facing unhealthy repercussions and conduct from others. It can be seen all around us. We certainly don’t deserve this. All we need is a facelift. The world needs to know that there is something special in the soil of this country. And for that we need a facelift. A facelift that will make the country glow with pride!!!!!!!
I urge all Indians to come forward and contribute from their end to help us grow and grow mutually with the world because we are here not to grow selfishly but grow selflessly.
Leaving a video for you all…… enjoy!!!!!!

A great post Sumeet!
And this video, actually gave me goose bumps!!
Yeah, we sure need a facelift!!
happy Independence Day in advance and Jai Hind! :)
Hey, I guess a facelift would be feasible only when the underlying structure is intact. In the case of India I think we need to stir right from the core. A lot has been done and a lot more needs to be done. Each one must come forth and do his bit and do it well. Jai Hind!
Thanks Shilpa!!!! Glad that you liked it!!!!
@Akshay: Totally agree with you akshay. We all need to pool in from our side all that we can!!! IF not for facelift we can atleast try to go upto the core problems and lend our helping hands to resolve them.

15th Aug…Our Independence Day… Yes, it is fine to wish every Indian, but frankly speaking this is one of the gloomiest and depressing Independence Day. Swine flu, draught, flood, earthquake, terrorism, inflation and ‘good ol’ issues like poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, corruption (this list doesn’t seem like ending…), population, pollution, dirty politics, ‘religion-cast-etc-etc ‘based racism and what not… This never ending list is making me panicky. What the “@*$#” are we doing to this awesome country???
We are doing something wrong here, aren’t we? Definitely…
We all are good at talking, but when it comes to execution we fail (except in case of destruction where we show great mob mentality; but when it comes to doing something right everybody shows their back to us)
Most of us have turned into ‘Eunuchs’, including me… and more than that we have accepted this. This is more frightening than anything.
Whenever I look around, what do I find? Our basic necessities are plagued with.
Food we eat, screwed…
Air we breathe, ditto…
Water we drink, ditto …
Transport, ditto …
Political system, ditto …
Education system, ditto …
Police system, ditto …
Economy, ditto …
Natural resources, ditto …
Laws and regulation system, ditto …
Money we use, ditto …
Media, ditto …
And so on….
In short, our country is suffering from not only one disease, but its health is in chronic state. And we all are fine with this… “Chalta hai (Its ok)”, “Kuc nahi hoga iss country ka (nothing’s gonna change)”… what is the use of such lines? Why can’t we do something about it? What is the use if we can’t even capitalize on the point that we have the larger percentage of young Indians?
So, NOW IT’S THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION… enough of this Gyan… I am fed up with myself, my helplessness… There is no one to guide a single Indian… Whom should I follow? Is there a single ‘Leader‘in this huge country?
I am proud to be an Indian… I am proud to be a part of country with this great heritage… but we should build our country over it… we can’t live in past and glorify things… on one side we have corporate India and on the other side, poor India… so in short, ‘Richers are getting richer; and poor are getting poorer…’
Everybody loves a Martyr, but would you like to be one? I am not blaming anyone, I am blaming myself… I am frustrated with myself… We all remember out country in the month of Aug or Jan… Why so? How many of us are actually proud to be an Indian? How many of us even know the meaning of our national anthem? There is lot of to write about...
Just need your inputs on what should we do to rectify this…We need to come out of this ‘Hibernation’

I totally agree with you! We have every thing. we need a confidance that "Yes! we have It". Each and every nation is facing all the difficulties we are facing! we are not different or alone. We need a face lift!!
@prashansa: Yup we do have everything but not the right guidance. Well!!! We can also do it without any guidance but with the conservative approach we have we fail to understand and unleash our power!!!!
A nice post Sumeet! But I just wonder who needs face lift? We had our bit...but world (if Australia is wat you r pointing to) is not ready to accept it!!
We should continue adding our bit to this country but at the same time with little patience as India is 200 yrs old country while all other developed ones are just 50 yrs old! It will take time for this face lift :)
btw.. i didn't get ur comment on my blog! Was it intended on the article or the comments on the article?
